On the advice given, I asked for, and received, an in-house assessment (*not* diagnosis), which in turn unlocked accommodations that were mostly about deadlines for paperwork. None of this was particularly relevant to the viva, except as regarded the matter of its timing.

The viva itself was…well, “fun” may be putting it a tad strong. But “an intense, focused, 150-minute conversation with people I respect and enjoy”? Sure. I wouldn’t want to do it every day, but it was not unpleasant.

If you’ve landed on the right examiners, they’ll kick off the proceedings by saying something like, “You’ve already passed, so you needn’t let anything that follows stress you out. We’re just interested in hearing what you think you learned in the course of your inquiry.” And then you really can just get right into it. Best of luck.
