@Em0nM4stodon I think we really should focus again on data protection, not privacy. Somehow, politicians have been able to mix these terms so we forgot the first one.
It is not about protecting your personal data from being seen by strangers. Instead, it's about protecting society from the consequences of data being collected and processed by corporations/government. You know, like fire protection protects people from fire.
@Em0nM4stodon It's sad how many people don't really think at all about what is happening around them. They just accept it, because they are either too addicted to the benefits that they buy with their data, or just because they don't care at all, and changing things require too much effort and sacrifice. For example we are being rug pulled by Google just because they can, they have billions of users and sacrificing the ones that do care about privacy is not a big deal (I guess).

@Em0nM4stodon they don’t care about privacy till I ask them to give them their phones so that I can read their WhatsApp messages. Then they care about privacy.
@Em0nM4stodon your privacy is my privacy. Every person who you call or message, has your data. Everything recorded in public, might catch you, we are all walking around with surveillance equipment, in a tech world that wants to vacuum up everything to be ingested into massive neutral nets.
