What division of Starfleet are archivists and librarians in?
(and what about historians?)
I think there are interesting cases to be made for each Sciences, Operations, and Command.
In the end, every operation needs archives and people to take care of the information therein. Archivists, librarians, and historians might not need Starfleet, but Starfleet needs them.

@lavaeolus ah, now we see the nonsensical way starfleet divisions are organized is Trek's 2nd largest unresolved tension
(the 3rd largest is O'Brien's rank)
@lavaeolus i would expect those all to be science division. But I also expect that starfleet doesn't have all that many of them, since having access to space ships and stations wouldn't often be necessary to pursue those studies.

@lavaeolus yeah, of course. The federation will have plenty of librarians, archivists, and historians. I just would expect a larger percentage of them to work in civilian institutions than the physics and biological sciences that we mostly see in the shows
