When I read this particular toot out of context (because someone boosted it) I read it as expressing frustration with programming tooling — a lack of ways for regular people to express their ideas in code.
I have thoughts on this, but when I read your entire thread I realized you were complaining about software design — in terms of APIs and other interfaces to functionality.
And right there is the core of my thoughts on enabling non-coders to code… If *we* can't get it right?
If we can't get it right, we who are theoretically trained and experienced in creating useful abstractions and highly cohesive yet non-coupled data processing systems?
Then how is handing off that particular hard problem (and it is a 'hard problem') to an LLM going to make anything better?
IMHO one underlying issue is we stopped teaching good old 'Systems Analysis' as a necessary skill for programmers. (There are other things to consider as well.)

it OUGHT to be a simple thing to do. maybe computationally intensive but not intensive in terms of expressing the idea. but we have completely failed to work on making these things possible
for instance, ffmpeg has a filter called `blackdetect` which will detect long stretches of blackness. cool!
but its outputs are kind of useless. it just dumps this info into the terminal
ok fine you can text munge to extract times i GUESS
if you have a single segment of black starting at time 10 and going until time 20, how do you remove it? with a filter:
[0:v]trim=start=10:end=20,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS[0v];
[0:a]atrim=start=10:end=20,asetpts=PTS-STARTPTS[0a];
this is the core kind of motivation for AI
we as a community have completely and utterly failed to properly make programming better. we have languished, and AI has picked up the slack
