The 87 year old woman, Maricarmen Abascal, was evicted, on a stretcher from her home of 71 years, by a vulture fund (*un fondo buitre*).
Ángel, a 22-year-old from Tenerife explained, “Only a few can afford not to come here to protest. This Maricarmen thing, it could be our grandmother, or our mother, or, if you rush me, us. That, housing, is the real threat to our life, not the invasion they talk about in Ceuta. Every day I find vulture fundrails (*folletos de fondos buitre*) in my house mailboxes. I take them off, of course, but the threat goes on. I pay 500 a month for a room, so I am lucky but it could go up any time. ”
