@mattiem I’ve kinda been on the not optimist side too - any particular reason you feel that way? For me, it was the actual “Im not writing the output” bit that I had a very hard time with.
And yeah, based on some of these replies, it would seem so about DHH. I honestly don’t know too much about him or his beliefs, just that he made rails and works at base camp.
@jordanmorgan @mattiem he has a spectrum of views, the troubling ones are his ardent advocacy for deeply racist solutions. The tech ones are just your typical tech people passionate one way or another.
That is what I found off-putting when I started to read your blog. I just couldn’t make it past it.
@jordanmorgan I appreciate you writing this. I do not share your optimism here, but it is clear that many do and that gives me a little comfort.
(I also am going to assume you aren’t familiar with some of DHH’s other “interests”, and it could be worth checking out.)
