Today is the annual chicken harvest. We met at 6:30 to begin and we're near the end of the messy work now. We'll bag whole chickens this afternoon and come back tomorrow morning to cut quarters.

This year we have about 200 chickens to share between three families. It'll be our cheapest protein this year. While they're raised, they're in pasture putting nutrients back into the ground.
