The scourge of modern UI design is “Dribbble Brain.” Clarity and the psychology of human-computer interaction is being rejected in favor of things that just kinda “look cool.”

There is a whole demographic of influential people who don’t think things like visual hierarchy or predictability matter. A UI “works” as long as it’s *possible* to do the things you want. Nevermind making it easy, consistent, or communicating to the user *how* to do those things.
