I was really pleased to meet with representatives from @povertyalliance at the Scottish Parliament ahead of Challenge Poverty Week 2026.
This year's campaign will focus on five key policy areas: social security; energy; fair work; tackling child poverty; and investing in communities - all issues affecting people across my region of Edinburgh and Lothians East, and right across Scotland.
Challenging poverty in Scotland needs cross-party action, and I was happy to support Paul Sweeney's Challenge Poverty Week motion recognising the organisations who are coming together to "challenge the causes and consequences of poverty and to demand action".
I look forward to working with others across Parliament and across our communities to make a Scotland free from poverty a reality.
