I have uploaded a patch to main that adds the :alt attribute to the LATEX attributes. You can put as many lines as you need, but don't forget to add #+ATR_LATEX: at the beginning! Like:

#+ATTR_LATEX: :alt Your description
#+ATTR_LATEX: With a second line following
