Why is it that I repeatedly find that lawyers have a better understanding of the mechanisms behind LLMs than techbros do? To be fair: One of the lawyers I'm thinking of is also a technologist, though I have no cause to call him a techbro.
This doesn't apply vice versa. Techbros in general have a poorer understanding of copyright than these lawyers!
I have several good reasons for avoiding "AI" discussions in my feed. Among them is that there's so so much misinformation & misunderstanding! More than any other subject, I have to wait & assess the truthfulness.
Case in point: The recent fury around @fedora .
I hope I've discussed it only enough that my opposition specifically to LLMs is known. More than that I want to everyone to know that there's other things to be excited for!
