I have the impression the term "Open Social Web" for what we are all working on has won.
Instead of "decentralized social" or other terms that have been floating around over the years.
We've been leaning into it for some years now with #FediForum since I realized that some members of the press had been using it, instead of something more techie.
@j12t I also shifted to using it. Even people who have never heard the more techie definition of "open", understand that it is something positive, and if you contrast it to "closed big tech socials" they intuitively understand something that is probably pretty close to what you mean.
(I'm in a newspaper again this weekend, being quoted about the "open social web" as well!)
