My daughter has been playing #Minecraft and it's been set up through my personal Microsoft Xbox account.

But this week she really wanted me to join her in her world, so I had to figure out how to set up the game to work on our local network in LAN mode, across Windows and Linux.

This involved registering a new Microsoft and Xbox profile for her, but also buying an additional copy of the game and installing the correct mods to give her controller support.

So worth it though.
