Trump now claims, Denmark has agreed to let the US have "permanent control" over the security of Greenland.
I doubt that. Only a few days ago the Danish military said we were placing more troops in Greenland ourselves. And Trump is very unpopular among both the Greenlanders and the Danes.
So far there is no news stories in Denmark about any changes to the security plans.
With the midterms only 46 days away, I find it more likely that Trump is making this up, trying to fake success.
@randahl Donald Trump is a compulsive liar. He calls it Truthful Hyperbole— basically, an oxymoron to justify his lies.
I first read about it in ≈2016, here: [1] https://aphilosopher.wordpress.com/2015/12/04/trump-truthful-hyperbole/
I just read this one, too (looking for the above):

“An emotional speaker always makes his audience feel with him, even when there is nothing in his arguments; which is why many speakers try to overwhelm their audience by mere noise.” — Aristotle, Rhetoric. [2]
