best thing i did this summer was repurpose my old 2020 macbook pro -> linux machine (just running mint)
no email, no discord, no slack. only 2 downloads: vpn + vs code. AND the battery life has significantly increased
i’m aiming for my mobile computing (mainly laptops) to prioritize portability: thin, light, great battery life (my main phd laptop is 0/3…) since most of my dev happens at remote clusters now anyway
@juliagersey I'm also just now starting to collect some laptop stickers. I picked up these two nice small ones at @berlinfediday. I think @informatik has a few that I gotta try to get my hands on. And we'll try to get some printed for @SafeguardingResearch and https://sciop.net via my current work project soon.
