It used to annoy me when stupid right wingers decided to just start calling the Democratic Party the Democrat Party.
It's weird and disrespectful because they intend it to be disrespectful.
But now I think about it differently: they're just too stupid to use words longer than three syllables.
Not that I have any great love for the party as a whole. I think the organization lives in fear and has become way too centrist. But it's better than the fascists.

Look at their ongoing support for fascist genocide in Gaza. Look at their almost total capitulation to Orange Stalin's regime (notable exceptions are the Democratic Socialists and a few other dissenters). Look at the way they cozied up to the technofacists before 2024.
They're not antifascist, they're just a different flavour of fascist.

It's not like there was a Golden Age when the Democratic party were consistently antifascist. They've routinely been explicitly white supremacist, pro-slavery, anti-indigenous, and anti-immigrant;

They are puppets, just like the Republicans, and anyone who puts their faith in them is setting themselves up for disappointment.

All that having been said, I'll embrace shortening the name of the party. Heck, Federal Express had a name and brand that lived for 100 years before they embraced the nickname of FedEx.
And I'll even go one further for the stupid godless republicans: if you can't can't pronounce "democratic" (much less the better wing of the party, Democratic Socialists), just call us dems. It's OK, we'll know what you mean.
