Zenodo is buckling under the strain of AI bot traffic, the Open Science Framework (OSF) has gone into emergency maintenance mode due to AI crawlers and other high-value sites across the web are desperately erecting barriers to ward off traffic overload.

I've been wondering what "AI" progress will look like once the open information ecosystem it has been built on is destroyed. It looks like we will find out in the not so far away future.
