@ajroach42 "A Short Bright Flash", by Theresa Levitt, the story of Augustin Fresnel and the birth of the modern lighthouse. Bought at the Key West lighthouse museum, and now I'm planning a trip to the Westport lighthouse museum because they have a first order Fresnel lens on display.
@WanderingBeekeeper I've only seen one proper fresnel lens, at the st. augustine lighthouse in Florida.

I like scifi and fantasy. I've recently been reading a lot of retellings of ancient myths, and then plowing through a bunch of mediocre pulp thrillers and horror.
Maybe I'll read House of Leaves again. I last read it the week before we moved to DC, while my wife was traveling for work and I was alone.
