LeMonde analysis of how Renzi's attempt to combat the far right in Italy ended up paving the way for Meloni - but that didn't stop Starmer, Macron, then Merz all repeating the same mistake.
Just stupidity ? Or were these apparent centrists themselves infected by far-right ideology ?

I'm not at all sympathetic to so-called centrists any more. I'm convinced they'll be the death of us all. It seems that as long as they are comfortable, nothing must change.
