Just heard the entire opinion team at Sacramento Bee—except the editor—also got laid off. I was the opinion editor at The Bee from 2018-2021. All gone.

The gutting of local journalism continues.
I started as an intern at the Lexington Herald-Leader, which laid off a majority of its reporters today. The McClatchy company was bought by a hedge fund that promised to be a good steward of journalism.
