Likely a moderate case of affluenza. If her promises never had any serious consequences before, then why would she worry about it now?
@juergen_hubert It seems to be a strange dwarf tradition, then. But one does wonder why a duchess did not have access to anybody - such as a priest, secretary, or whatever - able to write down that name for her immediately (in case she couldn't do it herself because she was illiterate), instead of only realizing one year later that she hadforgotten it indeed ...
