I used to love having a small but usable computer - a Personal Digital Assistant - with me. Personal / mobile computing for the win. I never feared someone else's PDA.

I will need to see the detail, and perhaps I have misunderstood, but the notion of interacting with people who have surreptitious listening devices, secretly transcribing conversations, is frightening.

I like being able to chat with people, and that - for me - is inconsistent with everything being potentially noteworthy.

A Bare Arms For Conversations policy?!

@neil I've noticed an increasing tendency for people to turn on AI meeting notes, even when it's a 1:1, and it has a chilling effect on what I'm then prepared to say.

@neil I’ve been thinking, as an alternative mobile communications device, a Rasberry Pi with Signal on it to escape the privacy lapse of android/ios.

Reminds me when I saw an original walkman in Berkley California in 1977. A long haired young man with two raw speakers hanging over his ears, and a reel to reel tape player strapped to his belt.

@neil I don't really see what about this is new, per se. You could always hit record on a phone and then transcribe the audio later. This lowers the bar for entry of all that but it was always a possibility.
