No, we're talking about ongoing harassment on the fediverse involving spreading Kiwi Farms harassment content and repeating falsehoods taken from Kiwi Farms content from today, yesterday, the past several weeks, the past several months and prior to that. The harassment has escalated since that video was posted 3 years ago rather than going away. This is one of the worst platforms for it. There have been more attempts at violence following the initial swatting attacks too.

I'm not sure I can imagine a worse look for a product you're supposed to trust with your safety than it's social media accounts devolving into old fashioned shit flinging in response to valid critique. Be an adult, deal with the critique. Act on it or don't but don't get this embarrassing and sad.

@zzt My iPhone is dying and I have no real desire to get another (see today's other Fedi discourse) but I had pretty much eliminated GrapheneOS from contention based on the way they behave on social media. Any criticism, no matter how mild generates the same hyperbolic reaction and accusations.

cause god this shit is legitimately extremely sad

the people I trusted with the phone I intended to fully switch to are now non-credibly accusing myself and others of being kiwi farms and doing kiwi farms shit, but the only posts you’ll see on here are critique

a lot of it is quite angry critique, because graphene had a very important job and broke our trust

a lot of it’s also in-depth security critique. some of it’s even critique of graphene’s contractor policy from a labor rights standpoint!

that’s a lot of stuff to write off as “kiwi farms harassment”

it’s very hard to trust the developers who deleted all their unpopular posts from yesterday and then came back with an utterly non-credible accusation of “kiwi farms harassment”, and when anyone asks for receipts (and again you can just read kiwi farms) graphene either ignores or blocks them
