Donna Jones, Police Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and Isle of Wight, incoherent as usual on the news tonight when asked about migrants landing at Eastney RNLI. And overstepping the remit of her role in the words she chose. Completely unsuited to the job.
She once phoned me to ask for my vote. Let’s just say I was polite but assertive in my reply and she never phoned our household again

…Donna campaigned for PCC on the basis that the Conservatives were hiring more police officers, after her party had gotten rid of 23,000 of them.
We once had the displeasure of listening to her being the guest speaker at my daughter’s school when she was fresh to her political career. And that was a load of shit too.

One would have thought we’d want Police Crime Decommissioners.

…Somehow, according to Donna, both Southampton and Portsmouth, cities of 260k and 215k people respectively, are “completely unacceptable places” to land ~120 people.
A QE carrier has a complement of minimum 680 people and Portsmouth has a dock for 2 of them. Plus several cross channel ferries that regularly carry hundreds of people each.
But also it’s “not really the Home Office’s fault”. But but also “something something stop the small boats”.
