@shlee @tao I had a similar but simpler conversation with a colleague yesterday; the context was that I was doing some discovery of an existing (human-designed and human-implemented) system, and I was mapping relevant components, as I do.

He asked “why don’t you use this LLM skill to generate the map for you? It’ll be much faster”

Because if I did that, I wouldn’t know which questions weren’t explored, which weird things discovered along the way were left out but critical for later evaluation, and I’d end up with something I couldn’t answer questions about in any but the most superficial way because I hadn’t been involved in creating it.

The journey is more important than the destination, and when we forego the journey, we arrive at the destination unenlightened.
