If you see a Palestinian account tagging other users or you receive an unsolicited message, please try to explain the rules to them so they can keep their accounts safe and active.
Many are simply doing what they see others doing, and a friendly/patient explanation can go a long way. Direct them to the website or @gazaverified’s pinned post.
If people choose to ignore the rules after having them explained, then we can only do so much, but let’s at least give them a chance.

Today I was mentioned by someone who is very likely a genuine victim of genicide but who isn't yet #GazaVerified by @gazaverified (because they created their account only today).
I was one of many people who were mass-mentioned by this unsolicited message.
I wrote to the person behind that account that I'm sorry for the suffering they are forced to endure and I advised them to not mass-mention people.
When I tried to send that message, I received an error because the account (created today) was already banned and I had an outdated cache still showing me the account.
Folks, have some fucking empathy. If you can't be bothered to talk with the Anne Franks of our time, even for just a minute, then block/mute them, don't report them, for fuck's sake.
Better: Explain the rules to them and that the rules exist for their protection, not for their punishment. You *can* make that *one minute* of time in your day. Really the message is a template that you can copy&paste from your notes, since it's always the same talk.
An account that was created today didn't have that talk yet. How can they get #GazaVerified by @gazaverified if they're banned from Mastodon on their first day here? What a great impression of Mastodon and the Fediverse. No wonder that many BIPOC people left if this behavior is the first impression someone gets of Mastodon.
Have some fucking empathy. Talk with genocide victims rather than reporting them. I am really disappointed by many of you. This is how you would have treated Anne Frank in the 1940s.

I try to ask them to use apropriate Content Warnings, necessary if I want to boost them.
