| can confirm that | have indeed been suspended from the Green Party. The only reason given for my immediate suspension is that allegedly ‘brought the party into disrepute’ by choosing to run for a reserved female space on Green Party Council as a trans woman. In the Greens, suspensions are not a guilty verdict. | was not found guilty of breaking any rules whatsoever. The only actual disciplinary allegations against me are that | allegedly was rude to people on the internet, and that I ‘gossiped’. I was not suspended for any of this. The only reason given for my IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION was: "EF’s recent election to GPC and the accompanying media interest” | was suspended just 8 days after being elected, in a secret group chat discussion which included just 13 of the 36 members of GPC. My critics submitted 100 pages of transphobic articles as ‘evidence’, while | was banned from submitting anything in my defence and was not allowed to see the charges. There was no investigation and no formal hearing. | was simply told that | had ‘brought the party into disrepute’ by being elected to a women’s role whilst trans. My suspension was immediately leaked to the Daily Mail by the party. In my suspension email, the party sent me a link to a suicide hotline. (Page 1 out of 2)

So, what happens next? Because | have not been found guilty of any disciplinary offences whatsoever, the only ‘appeal’ process for suspension involves asking Green Party Council to reverse their decision. This is something I have to do, so please do not email or harass any Council members. That is not going to help anybody, and I strongly discourage anyone from contacting GPC members individually. I do not want you to do that. However, I know many people want to help. Please repost this statement to help clear my name. If you are a Green: Suspension decisions can be reversed if GPC considers that there are ‘mitigating’ circumstances. This can include representations from other party members, submitted as part of the official process. | have therefore set up an online form where fellow Green members can submit statements expressing support for me and defending me. I remain a member of GPC and will resist any attempts to annul the votes of the 800 members who elected me in a free and fair ballot.
