"The Electricity Authority is consulting on how New Zealand's electricity rules should support plug-in generation [ie, balcony solar panels] if it becomes legal in the future (this is a decision for other regulators), and improvements to distributed generation (DG) connections."

They welcome feedback by 5pm, Tuesday 6 October 2026.
