the problem with youth unemployment in the UK keeps being framed as the fault of young people. the employers who are, en masse, refusing to hire anyone without years of experience are somehow being given a pass on this - as on everything else. really, Labour should be reframing the social contract as including a duty on companies - all companies - to hire and train people with no experience
it's just numbers. when a million people are trying to fill ten thousand jobs, 99% of them will not be successful, and chastising them ever more harshly for their failures is just fucking pointless.
