A crow and hir entourage of blue jays came by for some peanuts. Poor birds are all in shambles from the days and nights of rain. The last jay looked so terrible I kept saying "aren't you bedraggled!" over and over again while it grabbed its peanut and flew off.

(my understanding is birds have different coats of feathers that keep them toasty and dry on their skin, but they certainly *look* the part of "it has been raining for tHreE dAYs and we are in DISCOMFORT")
@quietmarc it's also molting season, so they may be missing feathers on top of being soggy! Not a dignified time of year for a lot of birds lol
@idzie yes, this makes sense, i shouldn't giggle at them but i'm certain they've had a "bird's eye view" of me at some of my less glamourous moments, so maybe we're even.
