NZ #FOSS friends, gonna try again with Hetzner, but I can't figure something out - what's the difference between their Cloud offering and Managed (konsoleH) offering? I *think* it's just that Cloud is on shared infra, where konsoleH is more like a dedicated node but they handle a bunch of the IT. Is that right? Am I missing something?
Also do they have some sort of integration for automatic backup to Storage Box from a Cloud (or konsoleH) node? That would be cool and solve my initial "where should I put my backups" issue.
EDIT: Obvs this is simple enough to set up manually, just wondering if they have something built-in.
@mattwillis I've used Hetzner's Cloud extensively for more than a decade but I've never tried konsoleH - if it's 'managed', that presumably means that Hetzner engineers keep the OS current and manage upgrades and perhaps backups. I'd expect it to cost quite a bit more than Cloud. I do my own backups but you can pay about 20% extra with Cloud instances to have them automatically backed up... it just doesn't suit my use case... Not sure what 'recovering from a backups' would look like...
@lightweight Gotcha, thanks for the insight. Yeah, their "managed" service is billed as exactly that - their team takes care of OS updates, security patches, things like that.
