Local record stores starting to carry imported Japanese jazz fusion CDs, except they look like a much worse deal if you happen to be able to read the original price tag. The obi has a ¥1980 price marked (~$17), which is a lot less than the $40-45 they're going for in stores here... haha

I did notice that Zulu (presumably not who you're talking about) wouldn't buy used CDs a few years ago, resulting in some people getting angry at that, but now has used CDs for sale.

I’m not surprised Zulu is starting to buy CDs again; the CD market is definitely picking up. A place I was at recently that opened as a vinyl only store just a couple years ago is stocking CDs now and buying them, too.
@misty the library sale last week had a big CD selection (which they didn't have the year before) and that was one of the most clogged-with-people areas of the room.
I might've tried to have a look, but my aging eyes don't want to bother with the fine print on the spines

@Sylvhem I think they’re just counting on relatively unsavvy customers who wouldn’t know how to import them themselves and don’t realize they’re getting this level of markup. The higher price is in line with more expensive vinyl records and they may think some people will think that price is normal for an imported CD, too. Even when that imported CD was a budget release domestically.
