#Austici/Inventati is shutting down. I chose them after I came from unreliable services like Tuta or the honeypot Proton. This was an organization that didn't just care about giving me private mail, but it had a manifesto whose politics I could align with. A political disposition that rejected oppression, surveillance and authority as much as I did. Autistici/Inventati is the kind of anarcho-communist front we need in #Libre Software communities, we sorely lack them. Maybe if we had more such organizations, more solidarity, we could have fought without shutting down.
But I also know, they care utmost about their users' privacy and risk. Rather than continuing and eventually having to rat out users because of authorities they chose to shut down. Thus, they refuse to cooperate with authorities or give them a chance to force them.
It is extremely sad for me, but unfortunately this is the world we live in. We really should take this as an inspirational wake up call, it's really time for us to unite in this fight against the fascists. This is no longer about our individual concerns, it's about our public commons!
