London Mayor Sadiq Khan's blocking of the Metropolitan Police's contract with Palantir was welcomed, but we now should focus on the other 12 police forces who *have* taken up contracts with the controversial tech firm, and are in various stages of the 'pilot' programmes ahead of formal procurement.
Given the failure of the claims for efficiency gains in health, for the police it may be not so much efficiency that's the issue, rather enhanced surveillance capacity!
