What's your local regional phrase most similar to "We're not here to fuck spiders"
@NanoRaptor "I shit in the milk"
Coming from where that apparently is the phrase, I keep wondering if it's an internet thing, cos while I see it online all the time, I have never heard a single person say it IRL. 🤷♂️
Unless... that's because everyone I know IS here for that...
Bloody hell, I may be completely surrounded by spider-fuckers. 😰
@imalcolm it seems reasonably modern too! Maybe the last 20 years. Usually quite hyper loud bogans I’ve worked with. Most other folk know it as something some other strayans say.
@NanoRaptor we’re not here to string chile, apparently.
@NanoRaptor it’s such a good phrase to illustrate how much of a tonal language en_AU is, with 6 different meanings depending on where stresses and inflections are pronounced in the sentence.
@NanoRaptor To overly obsess over details is called "flueknepperi" in Danish. Literally: "fly fucking".
That's the only regional idiom I can think of that involves sex with arthropods. You could bend it a bit closer to yours and say "Vi er her ikke for at fluekneppe" ("we're not here to fuck flies"), which would be understood to mean that you're not interested in overfocusing on details.
