Whenever our political class talks of pragmatism as they seek to get Left-facing politicians to be more favourable to business, I always wonder why pragmatism never seems to be invoked when there is an attempt to make life fairer & better for workers...
Of course, this is because the Right-facing want us to believe that business has no politics, but just wants to succeed *at* business; the problem is when success at business has to be at the expense of workers (then its political!)
