Yesterday, Russian Major General Nikolai Varpakhovich was shot in the face and in the torso in a motorcycle drive-by shooting in the village of Probuzhdeniye, 5 minutes from the Engels-2 airbase in Saratov Oblast, Russia.

He is the commander of the Russian 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division, which is responsible for countless missile attacks and war crimes against Ukraine. He is already sanctioned by the EU.

Both Ukrainian president Zelenskyy and Russian media has confirmed the attack.
