WMF US workers voted 158–14 to unionize, but this was never primarily about pay or benefits. It was about something more fundamental: a seat at the table as Wikimedia navigates major organizational and technological change.

@wwu I was just talking to a longtime union pal of mine about the question of how do you go beyond demands on bread and butter issues, to "a seat at the table," or in other words usurping management prerogatives. That's a hugely radical demand and ultimately where we as workers have to go if we want to shape the world we live in to be better for us and our communities. I'm very excited to hear more about your union, a lot of us are VERY inspired by your organizing.
