ICYMI Pegasus is an esp. evil flavour of mercenary spyware, allowing "an attacker to do anything that a user can do, ranging from accessing private data like notes, pictures and even encrypted messages [...] to covertly enable the phone’s microphone and camera."

It's made by NSO Group, Israel. We can guess their client.
