Day 2 started with 40 trailrunners on the hut terrace and quickly afterwards we heard rumble from the Bishorn (no relation I guess 😅). Something had broken of somewhere, but even comparing the pictures if yesterday did not show exactly what. It took approx 10 minutes for the rumble to die down.

After descending to Täsch (because of trail closures) we ascending towards the Täschhütte. The hut is located high above the valley and is visible from afar (on the first picture high on the left).

Day 3 started with the same blue skies of the first two. There is nothing better than stable weather in the mountains. We hiked the Pfulwe-pass that appeared to be closed due to rockfall (see https://mountains.social/@bergmeister/117213359079450510), so that was very unfortunate. Luckily nothing happened.

On both sides of the pass we encountered multiple ibex. We were quiet, they were quiet, we seemed to respect each other.

Highlight was of course coming over the pass and see the unbelievable mountain panorama: Monte Rosa, Breithorn, Klein Matterhorn, Matterhorn, Zinalhorn under blue skies.

Day 4 already, which ended in the fulfillment of a long time goal: visiting the Hörnlihütte on the ridge of the Matterhorn. This is as far as it gets as a hiker. From here on end the it is climbing.

The weather changed a bit and on the ridge it was very windy. At least we did not bring our jackets for nothing. At the hut is was crowded with day-hikers. After 14:30 it died down as they needed to catch the last cablecar.

The hut is newly renovated with very friendly personnel.

Goal achieved.
