Britain is having its hottest summer on record, but one place has remained green. Brits in Holnicote have put rivers back onto their floodplains, restored wetlands instead of draining them, and released beavers that now build ponds and maintain the wetlands themselves. The same wetlands slow storm water and cut flood risk to villages downstream. Aerial photographs this month show Holnicote as a green block in a yellow county.
