@Elizafox In terms of news events? Death of Princess Diana, which I mostly remember as 'all the adults were very sad about a nice-looking lady on the TV and it was weird and awkward for a couple of weeks'.

(I was four, I didn't really understand things like death, or celebrities, or parasocial relationships.)

The next big one after that was 9/11, which I've legit only just now realised why I had such intense deja vu at the time.
