Our friends at @CenDemTech polled the UK public about encryption and the results were overwhelming.

- 93% believe they have a right to private conversations online
- 84% are worried that compromising encryption would help hackers & criminals
- 79% think it would endanger vulnerable groups

Only 12% believe the government should be able to secretly order technology companies to provide access to their users’ information, and prohibit technology companies from notifying the public when they receive such orders.

It’s interesting then that the UK Government seems to be continuing its efforts to do exactly that - secretly undermining your privacy by undermining the safety of your data stored by Apple (and with possibly much further-reaching effects)
