The European Research Council has awarded €705 million in Starting Grants to 421 early-career researchers across Europe.
This gives them the opportunity to pursue bold ideas, build their own teams, and shape the future of science.
We'll also welcome 21 researchers, currently based in the US and Canada, who will move to Europe to carry out their projects. This is almost double last year's number.

Just because the US has abandoned science and education does not mean the rest of the world will stop innovating. It just means the US will fall behind, lose its status as a leader and will eventually self destruct through ignorance.

for reference, the NIH budget is about US $48 billion, eg about 50x the amount mentioned here

Is that even 0.2% of the number of foreign scientists working in the US?
