Some exciting #darkmatter news from a mine in South Dakota. But no Nobel prizes any time soon. I explain why in this a bit longer explanation video
@freyablekman read "mime"the first 3 times and it just didn't compute xD
@freyablekman I wonder, are there implication for the axiom experiment set up at DESY?
@rupdecat you mean "axion", but yes the axion experiments at DESY look for different dark matter scenarios. I don't think they would have sensitivity for what LZ sees, but I might be wrong. This is exactly why those interpretation papers that predict where else this should be visible are so important.
So, to shortly summarise, it depends on the darkmatter scenario, and at the moment it's not so clear what we are dealing with as it's only one collision
@freyablekman ah. Thanks for the background, spotting my typo and your nice video!
@rupdecat glad you enjoyed it
@freyablekman Not being a scientist at all but enjoying hearing about the latest findings/news, this was a perfectly digestible bit of videos content about this exciting development. Thanks for it and thanks for making it so understandable !
@axoln happy you liked it Axel!
