One kid is back to school this morning, the other has had their first start at high school delayed by the new school changing to an academy over the summer.

@matt It's more of a worry the other way - it's failed to improve enough to avoid this:

@bigvimto Oh really? Wild. When the academy thing was first introduced, I thought it was all about giving the school extra funding to get teachers who can teach kids a specialist subject?! But that was over a decade ago.
Not sure how forcing a school to turn into an Academy makes it less shit? Or maybe it just excludes the shit school from the Ofsted stats so it can look like "schools" are doing better? 😆
@matt I'm not sure yet, at least how it will affect this school. They're putting on a meeting to tell us about the changes in a day or two.
