Is this claim true? That is, are you deprecating legacy email servers for self-hosters as Strypey claims below?
Or is this just confusion over your non self-hosted free offering now using chatmail by default?
Already aware of the inbox change and dedicated account change, neither of which harm self-hosted legacy servers at all.

Both XMPP and Matrix tick all these boxes. eJabberd, for example, gives you support for both with one server;
