Great philosophical news from the astrophysics community! There are many hypotheses regarding the death of the Universe. For 24yrs, the leading hypothesis has been the "Heat Death of the Universe," or "Big Freeze," where the Universe keeps spreading & the temperature nears 0 K. Now the leading hypothesis--& is what I've always empirically favored--is the "Big Crunch," where the Universe collapses in on itself in a reverse Big Bang. That makes my Jack-Taoist heart happy!
