i'm getting #accessibility errors because of low text contrast on my website. it's obviously perfectly legible for me, but i understand that some people need much higher contrast to read comfortably.
my question is, is it enough to add special #css styles for *prefers-contrast: more*?
can i count on most visually impaired users to have that setting enabled? i could redesign my website for everyone, but i like the colors and believe they are fine for most people...

@stepan as a designer, it pains me to tell you that yes: legibility comes first. You may get away with lower contrast if the text is very big, but that’s it.

that's all fine, but i mean it's not really something us free netizens recreate with our personal websites, you know. stepan's website has soul, a spit of his personality. i like that about these, you could say rough websites.

accessibility should be firstly aimed at making the website usable and legible without css.

@pmjv do you mean a gui browser with css disabled or something like links? i occasionally try to view it in links and last time i checked it seemed ok. i never tried the former because i never heard of anyone using a regular browser without css. reader mode works well tho.
yeah, i mean if you disable css, it should be usable. screen readers dont care about css, but they care about good html.
