Eventually the settlers or their descendants will pay a terrible price because the architecture of oppression cannot stand. Few will shed tears.
@timbray the chapter in A Peace to End All Peace I just finished ended with this quotation from Leo Amery’s My Political Life on their hope for Jewish-Arab harmony in Palestine as they plotted and planned in 1917–18:
“Most of us younger men who shared this hope were, like Mark Sykes, pro-Arab as well as pro-Zionist, and saw no essential incompatibility between the two ideals.”
